The Power of the People Plan
Every voter deserves a voice that isn’t drowned out by billionaires, backroom deals, or biased algorithms. These reforms return control of our democracy to the people—where it belongs—by eliminating pay-to-play politics and leveling the playing field for every candidate.
When elections are powered by public trust instead of private wealth, we get leaders who answer to voters, not donors. This is how we build a system that’s fair, transparent, and truly representative of us all.
Federal Democracy Account Act
Every registered Voter receives a Federal Democracy Account to replace influences of large donors and dark money
”What is the cost of a free and fair election”
- Grant a total amount of funds for each political office that can only be donated to candidates within your voting district
- Each month from February to November, unlock 10% of those funds to spend on candidate options.
- Three step verification, with candidate accounts and voter accounts all linked through the treasury.
Allows for a steady stream of financial support to candidates based on public interest and engagement. Donation dollars represent direct candidate support in their voting district
National Voter Information Brochure Act
Eliminate unsolicited campaign mail and provides voters with a free, government-printed brochure before every primary and general
”One Mailer. Every Candidate. Every Voter”
- Mass mailer ban prohibits privately funded mass campaign mailers for all registered candidates
- Create a digital voter guide program available free of charge
- Brochures provide equal candidate space, reducing waste and spending while improving information directly to voters
Candidate brochures are official voter guides mailed to every voter with a one-page statement per candidate
Fair Debate Access Act
Organize rules and systems that promote equal promotion of candidates to the debate stage and the media surrounding debates
”Ensure fair and inclusive access to debates for all qualified candidates”
- Inclusive debate preparation mandates reasonable public funding mandates
- Public Broadcasting requirements with incentives for TV, Radio, and Paper
- Set a standardized debate schedule with a minimum of 2 debates per election cycle
Transparent Debate Criteria by publicly disclosing criteria and topics
Equal Media Access Act
Prohibit or place limits on political advertising and provide equitable public communication channels for campaigns
”Political advertising and candidate coverage should be equalized”
- Bans or heavily restricts paid political ads across TV, radio, print, and online
- Each medium needs a scheduled time or space that are guaranteed to each candidate for no cost.
- Online platform algorithms should allow for promotion for each candidate within their voting district, with opt-out procedures
Allowing for or creating grants that help local news businesses to provide these services will keep them from being hurt from the lack of advertising revenue while promoting equitable values.
End Dark Money Act
We must place a ban on outside political spending that does not represent the views of those in a candidate’s voting district
”Eliminate outside financial influence on elections”
- No donations, ads, or payments to candidates from outside advocacy groups
- PACs are limited to issue advocacy only, not able to directly mention candidates
- Endorsements from organizations are still allowed, cannot contribute financially, but can help with direct voter engagement.
- Overturn Citizens United by statute, establishing that the First Amendment does not consider Corporations as people
